The beginnings
It was in August 1988 that this firm, which distributes hydraulic components, was founded in the Center of Quebec.
The original 24 ft. x 48 ft. building, constructed more than ten years ago, was rapidly expanded as demand grew.
As of the second year, then in 1992, and finally in the year 2000, major changes were made to provide room for new
departments within the firm. Today we can talk of close to 10,000 sq. ft. in area and an inventory of approximately
one million dollars.
A central location
Its geographical location is advantageous for clients in or near major centers such as Montreal, Quebec City,
Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke and Drummondville. However, over-the-counter sales have been largely overtaken by
courier and mail order custom. By this we mean a service with next-day delivery anywhere in Quebec, the Maritimes
and Eastern Ontario. In fact, 75% of courier delivery is in Quebec, and 15% and 10% go respectively to the other two
provinces.
Vocation
From its early beginnings up to today, the priority of the three partners of Hydraulique Martin has been to provide
excellent service. From left to right: Sylvain Farly, responsible for administration and purchasing; Germain Martin,
responsible for production, repairs and development; Pierre Martin, responsible for sales and new projects.
Brand-name products
Initially, Hydraulique Martin built its reputation on pumps, valves (Cessna and Gresen) and hoses.
Many other major brands were quickly added to the range of hydraulic components available. Today, you will find
names like American Mobile Power (truck tank systems), Buyers (hydraulic parts for mobile equipment),
Commercial Intertech (pumps, valves, industrial and telescopic cylinders...), Dayco Industrial (hoses,
adapters and drive belts), Lovejoy (flexible couplings), MP Filtri (accessories and filters),
Prince (PTO pumps), Safeway (quick couplers), SMC Pneumatique (cylinders, valves), White
(hydraulic motors), Yuken (electric valves), etc. A more exhaustive list can be found in the
Products section and may be downloaded in Word and PDF formats in the downloading section of our web site.
Hydraulique Martin also design and manufacture power units as per customer requirements.
